Chiropractic

Chiropractic care is an important part of a healthy lifestyle for all families.

Chiropractic care is a safe and effective approach to health and wellness for the whole family in all stages of life. Chiropractic focuses on the nervous system and its integral role in your health. We have a holistic approach to wellness and use chiropractic adjustments and lifestyles changes to achieve optimal spinal and nervous system function, promoting the body's natural healing ability.

Chiropractic is a lifestyle. How we move, what we eat and our outlook on life all play a significant role in our life experience. We witness miracles every day in our practice! Our team strives to empower families to reconnect to their life's vitality and thrive each and every day.

It is our dream to live in a community, a country, a world full of happier and healthier families! Welcome to Healthy Families, and we thank you for the opportunity to serve you!

Our Approach

At Healthy Families, we go beyond traditional chiropractic care. Our approach is rooted in vitalism, the belief that the body has an innate ability to heal and thrive when interference is removed. We focus on nervous system function, recognizing that true health is about optimal communication between the brain and body—not just the absence of pain.

Our philosophy is wellness-based, not just prevention. We emphasize consistent chiropractic care as a proactive lifestyle choice—helping families, pregnant mothers and children grow, adapt and function at their best.

General Office & Appointment Questions

  1. What should I wear to my appointment?
For your 1st two visits, wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing that allows for easy movement. After that you can wear whatever you are comfortable in. You will never need to change for your chiropractic appointment.
  2. How often will I need to come in for care?
The frequency of your visits depends on your individual needs and health goals. Many patients begin with more frequent visits to create momentum in their healing process. Each adjustment builds on the previous one, reinforcing positive changes in your nervous system and spinal health. Over time, as your body adapts and strengthens, visits often transition to a wellness or maintenance schedule to sustain progress and prevent setbacks. Consistency is key to maximizing the benefits of chiropractic care and achieving long-term health improvements.
  3. Can I book an appointment online?
Yes! We use Jane for online booking. You can conveniently book yourself and your family. Online booking has its limitations. If you cannot find an available time, reach out. We may be able to help. Call (587) 391-6200 or email (info@healthyfamiliesyyc.ca) to reschedule or help manage your appointments online.
  4. What is your cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. This allows other patients the opportunity to book an appointment. Patients who provide less than 24 hours notice, or miss their appointment, will be charged a cancellation fee. Contact the office directly, call (587) 391-6200 or email (info@healthyfamiliesyyc.ca), if you need to make changes to your appointment.
  5. Where are you located, and where do I park?
Healthy Families is located in the community of Rosedale, Calgary’s NW. Although our address is 1404 10th Street NW, our parking lot and main entrance are located on Crescent Road NW. Depending on the time of day there are some driving restrictions. South bound on 10th Street you cannot turn left at any time. Many patients find it easiest to access us from 4th St NW.
Please park in our parking lot if there is space. If the lot is full, there is plenty of 1 and 2 hour parking on nearby streets. If you have any questions, call (587) 391-6200 or email info@healthyfamiliesyyc.ca.

Care & Treatment Questions

  1. Do you only see babies and moms?
No, the clinic welcomes patients of all ages and stages of life, from newborns to grandparents.
  2. How soon can a baby come in for a chiropractic visit?
Babies can be seen for their first adjustment shortly after birth. Many parents choose to bring their newborns in within the first few weeks. Chiropractic adjustments for infants are gentle, safe and tailored to their delicate bodies.
  3. What is the Webster Technique and are your chiropractors certified?
Webster Technique is a specialized prenatal chiropractic technique that helps ensure the pelvis and surrounding structures are properly supporting the growth and development of the baby. All of the chiropractors at Healthy Families are certified and trained in Webster Technique through the ICPA.
  4. Will I get adjusted on my first visit?
Yes, most likely. Your first visit is focused on understanding your health history and assessing your spine to determine the best course of care for you. In most cases, patients receive their first adjustment during this visit, but if further assessment or review is needed, your chiropractor may schedule your adjustment for the second visit.
  5. Why do you recommend care plans?
Care plans are designed to provide consistent, progressive care that allows the nervous system and body to adapt and heal effectively. Each adjustment builds on the other and it takes time for your body to repattern. Chiropractic care is not just about symptom relief; it focuses on long-term health, spinal function and nervous system adaptability. A structured care plan helps patients experience the full benefits of chiropractic and maintain lasting improvements.
  6. Once I start care, do I always need to come back?
Chiropractic care is a lifestyle choice, much like exercise, healthy eating or dental check-ups. While patients are never required to continue care, many choose to incorporate chiropractic as part of their ongoing wellness routine because they feel and function better with regular adjustments. The goal is to help you stay well, not just fix problems when they arise.

Financial & Insurance Questions

  1. Do you accept insurance and how does billing work?

Yes, we offer direct billing for Chiropractic services; however, there are some limitations.

    • Healthy Families does not direct bill insurance for the first two chiropractic visits due to inconsistencies in coverage among insurance providers.
    • We are also unable to direct bill for all insurance companies.
    • Direct billing is available for chiropractic care only; we do not offer direct billing for pelvic floor physiotherapy or massage therapy.

We recognize that navigating insurance can be challenging and while direct billing can be complex, we strive to make the process as seamless as possible for our patients. Receipts are always provided so you can submit claims to your insurance provider. We recommend verifying your coverage details with your provider.

  2. What are your payment options?

Payment is due at the time of your appointment. Payment can be made by credit (MC & Visa), debit or cash.
